Residents in two Crown Heights buildings took the streets for a rally Saturday, claiming that their landlords are ignoring repair requests and overcharging them for rent.

The residents with the Crown Heights Tenant Union say there are several issues throughout their building, including poor construction, leaking ceilings and appliances that are in poor condition. One woman says she's been dealing with mold in her home for weeks.

The residents say they've called their property management company, Renaissance Realty, but they say nothing is ever done. They believe the landlords are trying to push them out. Some saying they're charged too much for rent.

They say something needs to be done to improve their living conditions.

News 12 reached out the management company but was not able to get through.

The residents say they'll continue raising their voices until something is done.
