A family on Coney Island is frantically searching for a woman with Alzheimer's disease who has been missing for seven days.
Crucita "Lucy" Alvarado, 74, has Alzheimer's disease and is also diabetic. She is in need of medication.
The family has posted fliers all over Coney Island as they search for any trace of her.
Alvarado is well-known and loved in the community. Although she is ill, she has pretty regular habits including relaxing near her home or hanging out by a Rite Aid.
She is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 2 inches tall and about 130 pounds. She was last seen wearing an orange shirt and black sweatpants.
The community came together to pray and hand out more fliers Tuesday. Alvarado's family is devastated, but say they are just hoping she is safe wherever she is.
Anyone with information on Alvarado's whereabouts should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
