Baseball players for the City University of New York Athletic Conference Goodwill Tour are embarking on the trip of a lifetime to Italy.
Players from the Bronx and across the city will compete against professional players in Italy starting Friday. Team coach Dan Palumbo believes it will be a good experience, saying professional Italian baseball is comparable to Division I baseball in the United States.
Players said they are looking forward to working together. "I think the [biggest] thing is us coming together as a team. We all play at different colleges," Baruch's David Chestnut said.
Palumbo believes his team will gain experience as well as new comrades.
