Efforts to get more New Yorkers vaccinated as soon as possible are underway as some guidelines ease up and new information about coronavirus is released.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo says 22.1% of New Yorkers have received at least one dose of the vaccine and 11% are fully vaccinated as of Sunday. He adds as more New Yorkers get vaccinated, more restrictions will be also lifted.

Starting today, some guidelines are being lifted when it comes to weddings. Everyone must be tested before attending weddings and venues can now have 50% capacity or up to 150 people.

Meantime, a federal program called Vaccine Supercharge is scheduled to start rolling out in the next six weeks. It gives federally funded community health centers the opportunity to become vaccine sites.

Meanwhile, Dr. Anthony Fauci said Sunday that guidelines could be much more liberal by the Fourth of July if the level of infection is low enough. Fauci was also asked about a study done by the Journal of Clinical Infectious Diseases, which found three feet of social distancing in school settings instead of six feet may be just as effective as long as masks are on.

Fauci said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is aware of the new data, but no changes have been made as of yet.
