DanceAfrica returned to Brooklyn this weekend. The festival, which is in its 47th year, is the largest African dance festival in the country.
The Brooklyn Academy of Music transformed several streets surrounding their building into a global bazaar. The goal of the festival is to celebrate the rich and diverse African diasporic culture.
More than 150 vendors attended to help celebrate. Organizers said the focus this year is the country of Cameroon.
Brooklyn residents were treated to workshops, performances, and activities all weekend long.
Organizers said planning the event takes all year long and they are already looking forward to next year's event.
