Mayor Bill de Blasio may pick up former Mayor Michael Bloomberg's fight on sugary drinks.
The Wall Street Journal reports that de Blasio is looking at how he can make his mark on the issue. De Blasio reportedly wants to regulate oversized soft drinks despite Bloomberg's failed attempt to ban the sale of sugary drinks over 16 ounces.
Bloomberg's attempted ban was struck down in court when a judge said the mayor alone didn't have the authority for the ban. De Blasio may need to convince the City Council to get on board with the issue and pass a law.
