Coronavirus cases across New York City are steadily increasing as state officials attempt to get more people vaccinated.
The positivity rate is continuing to go up as more large gatherings are taking place and a more contagious delta variant is hitting the country.
New York reported a 1.58% positivity rate Thursday, which is much higher than a month ago when the city and state were reporting rates under 1%.
Mayor Bill de Blasio says the key remains getting as many people vaccinated as possible.
Although cases are going up, severe ones and deaths have not followed.
On Thursday, New York reported one death as a result of the coronavirus.
Hospitalizations are on the rise but not at the same pace as infections have been increasing.
