In the wake of last week?s deadly crash, there are new safety issues concerning ambulettes on Brooklyn streets. Five residents of the Brooklyn Manor Adult Home were killed and five others injured in a fiery crash Wednesday. Officials say the ambulette driver, Guy Thelemaque, had a suspended license and never had a license that allowed him to drive more than seven passengers. Currently, the state requires companies to register and make sure drivers are trained and properly licensed. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash and the safety record of the Instant Ambulette Company, the company Thelemaque worked for.
