Connecticut's restaurant industry is gearing up to get back into the swing of the summer dinning season, but according to new data many business owners are still struggling to hire.
Caleb Silver with Investopedia dives into the data to see who in Connecticut is booking reservations to eat out and what that means for restaurant jobs.
According to a News 12 Connecticut online poll, 100% of those surveyed say they eat out at restaurants but just occasionally.
Silver says restaurant recovery has been strong coming out of the pandemic in Connecticut, with the number of diners booking reservations exceeding 2019 numbers.
According to Silver, online reservations for restaurants are up to 26.4% in Connecticut compared to 2019.
Silver says restaurant jobs in Connecticut, however, are still down 4.2% compared to 2019, but growing every month.
