Demolition on a partially collapsed building in Cobble Hill began Friday.
The roof collapse, which occurred Thursday morning, temporarily displaced several residents and a methadone clinic at 217 Court St.
"The roof collapsed, so there was concern about further collapse - they were also worried about the safety of the community," says Jason Brand, an administrator with Narco Freedom, which runs the clinic.
According to Brand, no one was in the building at the time of the collapse.
While the demolition is going on, apartments on both sides of the building and a local restaurant have to be vacated.
Patients of the clinic are being sent to other nearby locations.
During the demolition, the block of Court Street between Wyckoff and Warren is closed to traffic.
