Demonstrators gathered in Coney Island Thursday to denounce Asian American hate crimes across the country.
This comes after shootings at three different spas in Atlanta over a week ago.
Some demonstrators tell News 12 they are scared to travel and don’t know what may happen when they walk outside their doors.
The NYPD Asian Hate Crime Task Force, which formed just last year, announced new efforts in outreach and enforcement to combat the issue on Thursday.
The event was held by Assemblymember Mathylde Frontus.
