Parents, teachers and students will be getting the chance to weigh in on schools in Brooklyn and the rest of the city. For the second year in a row, the Department of Education will be using learning environment surveys. The surveys will be given to students in grades 6-12, along with their teachers and parents.Education officials say it is important to do the survey so the learning process can be improved. To raise awareness, officials say they are going to focus on the 200 schools that had the lowest response rates last year. The results of the surveys will be available online. They account for 10 percent of a school's grade in its yearly report card. The deadline to submit the surveys is April 18.New York City Department of Education
