Disney has released its latest film “Jungle Cruise” over the weekend. The film raked in $34 million at the U.S. box office. The movie brought in an additional $30 million from customers paying to stream it at home on Disney+. The streaming move has been criticized by some theater owners as taking away business from movie theaters around the country.
Jack Dorsey's Square announced a $29 billion buyout of buy now, pay later service Afterpay. Afterpay allows users to pay in four installments without interest. The move comes as the installment loan market is booming, especially with younger consumers weary of traditional credit. Square will utilize the service in both its seller and cash app systems.
Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin has lost its chance to take NASA astronauts to the moon. The government accountability office denied Blue Origin's protests over the awarding of $2.9 billion contract to SpaceX for a Lunar Lander. The protests came after NASA originally indicated they wanted more than one Lunar Lander design, but only awarded a single contract to SpaceX.
