District 15 teachers rally against reopening of schools

Teachers from District 15 took to the streets to rally against the reopening of schools.

Teachers from District 15 took to the streets to rally against the reopening of schools. 
They wore red shirts and carried signs that read "We Demand Safe Schools." 
They say there are many issues with the proposal for how students and teachers will come back. 
Teachers say they believe children need in-person instruction but that the risks of the coronavirus are too great to endanger themselves and their students. 
The group marched from Cobble Hill Park to Sunset Park--going through several of the neighborhoods they teach in so families would hear their protest. 
Mayor Bill de Blasio pushed the start date for in-person learning to Sept. 21 with remote learning starting on Sept. 16.
