The city Department of Education is letting parents of students in failing schools know that changes are coming.
Pamela Garcia, of the DOE, went door to door in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, promising parents that failing schools will be getting some much-needed upgrades. She also wanted to let parents know the department is listening to their concerns and requests.
Students will have an extended day and more sports and arts programs in addition to mental health and tutoring services.
Parents and guardians say they appreciate the door-to-door service.
