Three dogs have reportedly died after eating rat poison, and now residents in Boerum Hill and Cobble Hill are trying to spread the word.
A sign has been put up warning dog owners that someone is spreading rat poison. The poisonous pellets are green or turquoise in color and it is sometimes seen mixed with bird seed.
The poison has been seen on Butler between Hoyt, Smith and Court streets.
Hope Animal Hospital says it is aware of the poisonings but has not treated any affected dogs.
