Williamsburg dog owners say they're worried about bacteria at McCarren Park after two pups died of a disease called leptospirosis.
The veterinarian who treated the two dogs, Dr. Orlando Diaz, says leptospirosis is a fast-moving disease that thrives in mud and standing water and usually originates in rat feces.
"Get your dog vaccinated and never let them drink any of the water - it can be contaminated," Diaz says.
