Kevin Gaines says his 6-year-old chocolate lab, Kona, died while under the care of Bronx Barx.
Last March, while on vacation, he boarded Kona and his two other dogs at the Bronx Barx - a dog service facility.
Court documents allege caretakers at Bronx Barx took Gaines dogs to their personal home where Kona ate a piece of a carpet.
Documents claim Kona vomited multiple times throughout the day before he collapsed and was declared dead.
"I just don't know how they can go on and continue to do what they do. I feel angry." said Gaines.
News 12 reached out to Bronx Barx for an interview. It responded with the following statement:
"At Bronx Barx, we love dogs and pride ourselves on ensuring a safe and fun environment for all dogs in our care, and have provided this care for thousands of dogs over the years. We vehemently deny the accusations in Mr. Gaines lawsuit, and look forward to clearing our name via the legal process." - Renzo V. Pereda, Owner
