The Department of Justice says that the 36-year-old man accused of dismembering a woman and spreading her body parts around Canarsie Park was found guilty of her murder.

Cory Martin was convicted of strangling and killing 26-year-old Brandy Odom in 2018. Prosecutors say the killing took place to get life insurance payouts under her name after she worked as a prostitute for him.

Martin’s co-conspirator, Adele Anderson, took a plea deal in 2021 and testified against Martin. He now is expected to face life in prison once sentenced.
