Some big changes could be coming to the B46 Select Bus Service.
The city's Department of Transportation and the MTA want to add more pedestrian space at busy transfer points along Utica Avenue. They have drafted a plan that includes adding additional bus lanes, improving bus shelters and extending sidewalks, all of which could potentially narrow the roadway.
Some commuters think the improvements are a good idea. Others told News 12 that this could create bottleneck traffic and add congestion to an already crowded area.
MTA officials say the changes will hopefully be implemented sometime this year.
