A pedestrian plaza in Clinton Hill could be getting an upgrade only three years after it was first built.
The city's Department of Transportation says it wants to double the size of Putnam Plaza. The plan calls for the reconstruction of the sitting area, surrounding roads and the sidewalks. The agency is teaming up with the Fulton Area Business Alliance BID to make the project a reality.
Some neighbors say the expansion is a waste because the plaza is under-utilized and interrupts traffic patterns.
A meeting was held Monday night for residents to tell the DOT what they think about the project. The DOT says it will use input from the meeting to develop a conceptual design that will be presented for further community feedback at a second public workshop later this fall.
