The Department of Transportation says it will look into parking rules at an apartment complex in Coney Island after dozens of residents received tickets in the same spaces they have used for decades.
Drivers that live at the New York City Housing Authority apartment complex on West 29th Street say they have been angle parking in front of their building for as long as they can remember. They discovered tickets on their cars earlier this week.
The tickets read "no angle park - head or back in - sign posted." Neighbors wonder why they are just getting tickets now when there aren't, and have never been, signs saying they couldn't park this way.
DOT officials say drivers must parallel park unless a sign designates angle parking. They say they will look into whether angle parking is appropriate at the location.
