More than 23,000 square feet of repaired sidewalk was unveiled by the Department of Transportation in Bushwick Monday.
The much-needed repairs were made to the sidewalk outside of Hope Gardens Housing Complex.
Residents of Hope Gardens told News 12 Brooklyn that their sidewalk had been a problem for years, with many tripping and falling due to the sidewalk's poor condition.
"I hope that this will happen in the whole development, you know, not just this area," said Gloria Estrada, of Bushwick.
The DOT says the $260,000 project is part of its commitment to repair sidewalks at NYCHA properties.
