After a long run in the neighborhood, Dough Doughnuts in Bed-Stuy will be closing on Sunday -- but the shop is not closing for good.
The shop owners say they plan to open a larger shop at a different location in the borough.
They say because of the high demand for their pastries, they are working to secure a location that will better suit the need.
Brooklyn residents are flocking to the store on Saturday to get one last taste of the pastries before the shop closes. Customers say the doughnuts at the shop are like no other.
Dough Doughnuts sells a variety of doughnuts as well as hot beverages.
Co-owner Steven Klein says that while they cannot say where their new location will be just yet, they plan to make an announcement very soon.
“We’re looking for another location, or two, actually in Brooklyn, and we’re working on them,” Klein says. “And our vision, and our growth is to increase our presence in Brooklyn, and increase our presence in the New York area.”
Until the new location opens, residents can still satisfy their sweet cravings at one of the more than 40 coffee shops and markets that sell the doughnuts.
