An MTA driver is being charged in connection with the death of a 70-year-old woman in Ocean Hill on Tuesday.
Police say the woman was killed by an MTA bus at 6:15 a.m. as she tried to cross the street at the corner of Sackman and Fulton streets.
Paul Roper, 48, faces charges for leaving the scene of an accident and failing to yield to a pedestrian and exercise due care.
Officials say a video shows Roper driving past the scene after hitting the woman.
Witnesses say the victim was named Carolyn. They say she could be seen any given day walking the streets of Ocean Hill.
An MTA spokesperson says Roper has been suspended without pay.
