The NYPD has released footage showing drone technology help them catch two teens who fled to a Brooklyn rooftop following a shooting.

The incident began when officers responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire near Powell Street and Livonia Avenue on June 28.

The NYPD Tactical Assistance and Response Unit deployed drones to assist in the investigation.

The drone operator spotted two people on the rooftop of a public housing building after just a few minutes.

Officers rushed to the scene, took both suspects into custody and recovered a firearm.

Police say a 16-year-old has since been charged with criminal trespassing and criminal possession of a weapon.

A 14-year-old is also facing charges for criminal trespass.
