Officials say this election has seen record-breaking numbers of early votes cast, with both the first and last day of early voting setting single-day records and over one million votes cast citywide - 345,000 of those votes coming from Brooklyn.
Despite the swell of support for the new program that allowed widespread voting at over 155 locations, residents in Bushwick told News 12 they are excited to cast their ballots in person on Election Day.
"I just wanted to be there, I feel like voting and voting in person on the day is important," said Tyreana Overby, of Bushwick.
For others, the day is a family tradition.
"My whole family is going together, all voting at the same place at the same time," said Barry Langston.
They tell News 12 they know the change they want to see, that's bringing them to the ballot box.
"The prices on everything are going up people are struggling to find pay the bills its hard," Overby said.
This year, the Board of Elections is also reminding voters to not just know their candidates, but also their ballot measures, with six on the ballot this year.
"We want to encourage everyone to preview those propositions before you get to the poll site," said BOE director Micheal J Ryan.
Polls on Election Day will open at 6 a.m. and close at 9 p.m.
Those still in line before the 9 p.m. cutoff will still be able to cast their votes.
