A Brooklyn teen's memory will live on forever in the East Flatbush community after a street was co-named in his honor Saturday.
East 51st Street near Clarendon Road has been co-named "Private First Class Errol Elijah Milliard Way." Milliard was an 18-year-old who made the ultimate sacrifice last year on July 4 while serving in Afghanistan.
He grew up on 51st Street, and his family says he loved the neighborhood dearly. They describe him as very funny, inspirational, musically talented and brave.
While Milliard's family says they will never get over their tragic loss, there is comfort in knowing that everyone who walks along the street will remember the special teen.
