One Brooklyn man is asking the city to prevent crashes before they happen.
Taylor Garnier is asking for a speed bump on the corner of Avenue D and East 45th Street in East Flatbush. The street is between a funeral home and a school.
Garnier says the block has seen too many speeding cars racing through the area and fears for his community.
He has been advocating for his community, gathering signatures as part of a petition for the Department of Transportation to install a speed bump.
The DOT responded in a letter stating a study is already underway at the location. When News 12 reached out to the DOT, an official said they would expedite the study.
