An East Flatbush man is preparing to reveal his costume at the Old Mas competition as part of the West Indian Day Carnival festivities.
Ronald Guy, who owns a health food store in East Flatbush, says he?s been participating in the opening event at the Brooklyn Museum for more than 39 years. He hand makes his costumes and says he keeps them a secret until the event. Guy feels Carnival brings him closer to his Trinidad and Tobago ancestors.
The Carnival is September 4.
