Family, friends and elected officials gathered for a street renaming Thursday in East Flatbush in honor of a 12-year-old boy who was fatally shot in March.

Kade Lewin was killed on Linden Boulevard and East 56th Street. Family and friends released balloons in the air during the renaming ceremony in honor of Lewin.

The family is still waiting for justice in the case.

The victim's mother, Suzette Lewin, had just one question for the person responsible for her son's death.

"I just want to say why, why you took my son?" says Lewin.

Police say there are no leads or updates in the case.
