A brutal mugging in Crown Heights left an East Harlem man with 20 staples in his head last Friday, and police have yet to identify any suspects.
George Chen, 35, says he also suffered a fractured jaw and damage to his teeth in the 8 p.m. attack on Park Place near Hampton Avenue -- four blocks away from the Kingston Avenue train station.
Chen was walking from the train station to a friend's house, he says, when he found himself accosted and knocked out.
"I just remember my mouth felt weird, I was like, 'Why does my mouth feel weird?'" Chen says. "And it's because my teeth are kicked in."
When he regained consciousness, he says he realized he'd also been robbed of cash and credit cards.
Whoever stole the credit cards appears to have charged $500 at Foot Locker.
Police say they have not yet identified any suspects, but people with information on the assault should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
