Family and friends said a final goodbye to an 18-year-old who was stabbed to death in East New York.
Tanaya Copeland was laid to rest at Cypress Hills Cemetery after police say she was stabbed more than 30 times while walking to a friend's house nearly two weeks ago.
Loved ones remembered Copeland during a funeral at Bethlehem Baptist Church Wednesday, which included a special performance from the Royal Knights band she was a part of. They described her as a loving role model who always wore a smile and was working toward finishing a nursing degree.
No arrests have been made, but investigators say they are still looking into a possible link between the nearby stabbings of two young children just days later. Police have charged Daniel St. Hubert in connection with that case.
