An East New York resident is ready to leave his apartment at Linden Plaza for good.
News 12 first spoke with Sayquon Johnson back in November. He had a leak in his kitchen that was fixed in January. Now he says things are much worse.
"Rodents…bugs, flies everywhere – it just got real horrible…I have to barricade myself in my room," said Johnson.
He told News 12 that the leak was gone but the mold was spreading all over his kitchen. He said he hasn't used his kitchen since March and now the rodents have taken over.
News 12’s cameras were rolling while Johnson picked up his suitcase and a mouse ran out. He's worried about his dog Dakota and how this could impact her health.
News 12 reached out to the building owners, R.Y. Management, about these conditions and are still waiting to hear back.
Meanwhile, Johnson says he has a court date set for June 3 on this issue.
