Mayor Michael Bloomberg is planning to add education experts to the roster of advisors Brooklyn residents can speak with by calling 311.
City officials said the new service should benefit parents of public school students who may have a grievance or other question about their child's education.
"Parents can still struggle to get basic information and find answers," said Bloomberg at his State of the City address last week. "It is harder than it should be and I've always thought we could do better."
City officials said parents make nearly 140,000 inquiries per month about their child's education to sources outside of their child's public school, a process they hope to streamline with the new 311 service.
