An elderly driver jumped the curb and hit multiple pedestrians before slamming into a school fence Thursday morning, sources say.
The accident happened at around 8:30 a.m. at Fort Hamilton Parkway and 79th Street, directly outside of P.S. 127.
None of the children were hurt because they were all inside the building at the time of the accident.
According to an eyewitness, the driver of the car was in her 80s and may have suffered a stroke at the time of the crash. The driver?s name has not been released.
School custodian Louis Sciacca says she saw two people lying on the ground outside of the building, one of whom was bleeding. In all, five people were hurt.
The victims were rushed to Lutheran Hospital. The driver and one pedestrian are listed in serious condition.
