Businesses ravaged by a massive blaze along Jerome Avenue earlier this month are being demolished.

Emergency demolition is now underway, but with caution. The Department of Environmental Protection says that because some of the building materials were made out of asbestos, air samples are being taken to make sure the public is safe.

The fire tore through businesses earlier this month.
