A supermarket employee is dead after police say he was struck by a forklift in Midwood Tuesday evening.

Police say 22-year-old Gustavo Tapia was struck in the chest by a forklift at Moisha's Discount Supermarket on Avenue M. Tapia, an employee at the supermarket, was allegedly in the upstairs parking lot working on the forklift when it crushed him against the wall.

Tapia was taken to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
