Two EMTs were sent to the hospital while trying to save an elderly woman’s life Saturday night in East New York.
The New York Police Department is now trying to piece together what happened when EMTs were trying to help the woman.
According to the NYPD, first responders were called to Loring Avenue around 8 p.m. to help a 60-year-old woman. When they got there, officials say another woman related to the victim started attacking two of the EMT’s.
One EMT was punched and pushed into a fence and the other EMT was punched in the nose. Both EMTs were taken to Kings County Hospital but have since been released. However, police say the elderly woman who they were trying to help is in critical condition.
The woman who attacked the EMTs is now in custody.
