An EMS Week skill competition was held in downtown Brooklyn today.
The event took place outside the FDNY headquarters.
Five EMS teams, one from each borough, battled it out in various challenges. The event is part of the FDNY's effort to promote public safety while testing the EMTs' life-saving skills in real-life scenarios.
The competition included a CPR station where EMTs had to get their patients breathing again and a car crash scene where EMTs were tasked with treating victims.
The winning team got money for their station, a trophy and a brand new ambulance.
The EMTs will also be gathering at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Manhattan on Saturday for the National EMS Memorial Service.
