Tru and BelRaye Osborne weren't expecting their baby boy until Oct. 6. But on Oct. 1, when she started having contractions, the couple jumped in the car and started the 21-mile drive from their home in East New York to their hospital on the Upper East Side.

"About 15 minutes later, I felt the baby was coming and I said, 'Babe, pull over'," said BelRaye Osborne.

Within minutes, their baby boy was born on the side of the road. "He was sliding out so quickly, I had to catch him with my whole body," said Tru Osborne.

Two police officers who were having coffee nearby escorted the couple to the hospital. A few days later, baby Osborne made it home safely and healthy.

"I think it's very important for women to know that we are able to steward this, and that while we do have doctors and practitioners, we also have to believe in our bodies and our strengths, said BelRaye.
