This owners as they kick off this amazing holiday season storm, watch me all just all know of joining us now, from that time with more on this year's winter wonderland holiday marketplace. So all and we've seen all over the place this morning. Where you at now? Hey, right now Christy, aha. I am inside of Santa's Hollow as everyone is getting ready. Of course, for some of the better festivities later on this afternoon and evening. Of course, Mr Claus is getting those final touches going, but wanted to introduce a special guest, Mrs Claus and a lot of us know you as Dale Charles, the executive director of the Beds uh uh gateway bid. So thank you so much for coming out. And of course, Mrs Claus in person. How cool is that? So, let's talk a little bit more about how much work has gone into this and what can we expect heading into this afternoon and evening. So we have a lot of special activities going and some people that we're inviting or eight of the businesses from the Business Improvement District that um our and Wells Fargo sponsoring this event is helping these business stay into business and they don't know that we have special gifts for Mrs Clause to be given out this evening. They have no idea what it's gonna be and we have trolley rides going up and down, come for your free trolley ride from Troy to Clason on F street. And we have so many businesses waiting to see you and it's all free. I love it. That's such a surprise on the way, as well as those trolley rides. Really looking forward to that. And also tell us about all the different partners that has uh helped come uh together and create this amazing winter wonderland that's going to be here all the way through the end of December too. So this was created as a neighborhoods now program that was through Van Allen Institute and um design program, I'm sorry, Urban Design Forum. And they have been supporting us for the last four years to making sure that we can have something like this in the community of Bedford Stuyvesant. As as we see in Manhattan, we are going to light up Marcy Plaza, Marcy Avenue on Filton Street. Come see the holiday lights, come see the businesses that are here. We have entrepreneurs here, we have business. This is from the Avenue here on the Plaza. So you just need to come out and visit. Thank you. Awesome, awesome. So, pleasure to have you here as well. Out on the road in Brooklyn, spotlighting small local business owners as they kick off the holiday season. Yes. Storm Watch team. Meteorologist Allen knows is joining us from bed side with more on this year's winter wonderland holiday marketplace. What a really pretty tree, Allen. Where are you? Are you behind the tree? Yes. No, I'm not behind the tree. I'm actually in front of here at Santa's Hollow. Uh huh. Uh huh. But listen, I'm not, I'm not Santa Claus. I'm no Santa Claus, but I can give you presence of talking about the amazing winter wonderland experience here today as well to, uh, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays right here on the corner of Marcy Avenue and Fulton Tree. And to talk a little bit more about one of the awesome experiences here. We're going to talk about as well with the, one of our, oh, it's a little bit hard to get up here. One of our small business owners here at El Jefe Mexican, uh, grill. We have, uh, um, Anishka Camarena. Thank you so much for being here this morning. So, tell me a little bit more about how this winter wonderland is such an amazing experience for Betsy. It's actually a great experience for Bety. It gives all the small business owners a platform to actually display all their services products, amazing food that we have to the community and those who are visiting the. So it helps us out a lot. So, how many years have you been doing this and participating? And how cool is it? I've been in Bed Stuy for eight years. The Winter wonderlands for four years. So we're just here. Yeah, that's awesome. And tell me one of the things you do as well. I heard something about the trolley which sounded really awesome. So basically we give out some amazing hot chocolate. You get a chance to get two, you get a chance to get a ticket for two tacos and a drink, but you have to get on the trolley. It just gives the holiday spirit, it just gets you in the mood. We just want to give back to the community. Awesome. So, uh this is going to be going on through the end of December, December 23rd. What are some ways that people can participate as well visit your place and other small businesses that are here along in the neighborhood. So for instance, at my place, you can actually drop off a Santa letter, it's for yourself or anyone in the community in need and we're just trying to fulfill and um put some smiles on people's faces for this holiday Awesome. And where can you find a little bit more information about your place as well as to find out more about Winter wonderland. So, I'm located at 1483 Fulton Street, not too far from the Winter wonderland. So, hop on that trolley and get there or you can take a nice cool walk either way. Awesome. Road once again, spotlighting local small business owners as they kick off the holiday season. So where are we headed? Storm Watch team. Meteorologist. A No is joining us from that style with more on this year's Winter Wonderland holiday marketplace. So, Alan, what do we got going on right now? Things are more or less quiet, but things are already starting to heat up. They are cleaning, getting everything ready for. Of course, the big afternoon expected today and to talk a little bit more about what to expect here with the Bed Stuy Winter Wonderland. We have Dale Charles, executive director of the Beds Stuy Gateway bid. Thank you so much for coming out here this morning. Thank you for having me. So tell me a little bit more about what to expect as things start to get going around lunchtime. So right now we're in the process of cleaning up and then we have things coming up like we're wrapping gifts with Wells Fargo for the kids because we're giving away almost $10,000 worth of toys until December 23rd. Um, we have things coming up where we have the Brooklyn United Marching Band and we have, um, oh, it's just so much stuff. I'm so sorry. We have Brooklyn United Band and we have the Brooklyn ballet coming out and there's just, just a lot of, there's, there's even little secret stuff that's coming up that we didn't even talk about and we don't want nobody to know because we're honoring eight businesses on, within the bid and making sure that they get here but not telling them what we're doing for them. So we'll have them up on stage, hopefully get a little teardrops coming out of their eyes because, you know, right now businesses, it's, it's, it, it, it took a lot to get through COVID and we have a lot of businesses that are suffering. So my goal was to find the businesses within the corridor that are almost going out of business and giving them a little something to help them through so that they can survive through the holidays, talk about a tease and, and of course, this afternoon, starting at 430 there's going to be the big ceremony. Tell us a little bit about that as well. So we have something that we're doing a shooting star lighting, not Chris street lighting because I, like I said, in honor of the businesses, we wanted to honor it as shooting stars that they literally got through COVID with the, the the teeth of their claws trying to, to get through business. If anybody know about small business, it's hard, it's hard to stay in business and right now COVID is still here even though we think it's not. Right. Thank you so much for having us, Dale. No, is joining us from bed side with more on this year's Winter Wonderland holiday marketplace. It looks beautiful behind you. Oh, yeah, for sure. Aha Christie. It is really, really beautiful. But listen, the sun isn't even up and a lot of what's going to be happening here later this afternoon, it hasn't even set up. So this is all a part of the initiative from the Betty Gateway Business Improvement District, which has been around since 2009. And with, of course, the goal of spotlighting some of the small businesses here. Of course, this actually launched on small business Saturday, but we're going to keep the small business vibe going all the way through the holiday season. There's going to be a tree lighting ceremony as well. Later on this evening at 5 p.m. we're here at the corner of Marcy Avenue and Fulton Street. So right in the heart of Bed Stuy and at that ceremony as well, there are going to be eight small businesses here right in the heart of Bed Stuy that are going to be honored. I'm going to take a step out of the way so you can take a look here at the beautiful trees as well. And honestly, these booths while empty right now going to be bustling with different small businesses as well. Different booths being set up again. This is all dedicated to non profit and community organizations. There are multiple events that are going to be happening here on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. So that means yes, the kids can come out here on the weekends as well. It's going to be between noon and six pm through basically the Christmas time December 23rd. Today is going to be the big event with that tree lighting ceremony at five o'clock. And during those Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sundays, as you can see there, there's going to be a winter fashion showcase featuring the latest creations from Brooklyn based iconic designer Mosu on Saturday, December 2nd, multiple family friendly events will be here as well. Pictures with Santa and Mrs Claus as well will be here, live music gift getaways and so much more. So while things are pretty calm right now, it is going to be a whole lot awesome heading into this afternoon. So if you can make it here after work or maybe after school really nice. The ceremony begins at 430 goes through six with that tree lighting at five o'clock. We're going to have as well, live interviews coming up in the next hour. So make sure you stay tuned.
