A section of Central Avenue on the border of White Plains and Greenburgh remains partially closed Monday. Crews are working to clean up after a utility pole and transformer fell, according to Con Edison.

Officials say this happened around 5 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Battle and Central avenues. A Con Edison spokesperson says a tree came down and struck wires, causing a utility pole and transformer to fall.

Police and Con Edison crews responded to the scene.

Police say one northbound lane remains closed in Greenburgh and will remain that way until at least 10 p.m. as crews continue to clean up the debris.

One southbound lane remains open to traffic. Drivers are being urged to use caution, expect delays and plan for alternate routes when possible.
