The family behind a Coney Island business that stayed open to keep emergency supplies available during Superstorm Sandy's flooding received accolades from Borough President Eric Adams Tuesday.
The Dweck family operates one of Brooklyn's five DII stores. They remained open and sold bottled water, batteries and other necessities.
Morris Dweck thanked his staff for their help in supporting the community.
The Dwecks have also opened three private schools, which currently have more than 900 students enrolled.
