Organizers of a festival last weekend are condemning the people responsible for shooting two teenagers near the event.
The family day event was held Sunday in Mount Prospect Park.
The Trinidadian group that has organized the event for the last five years says it recognizes that there is a real problem with gun violence in the community.
"We really, really want to dismantle any association with violence," says Kendell Juilan, of John John and Friends, Inc. "We really want to destroy that thought, as well as the families who are going through their difficult period right now."
Police say the two teenage boys who were shot did not have life-threatening injuries.
So far, no arrests have been made.
