The family of a man killed when a police car struck him at the end of a high-speed dirt bike chase is demanding justice after the medical examiner ruled his death a homicide.
Police say 28-year-old Eddie Fernandez was killed when a squad car hit his illegal dirt bike from behind.
After hiring a private investigator, the family was able to obtain a cell phone video from a witness to the accident. The family was outraged to find the video showed police handcuffing Fernandez while he was dead.
Fernandez was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, leading some family members to question whether police efforts to stop him were too drastic.
Calls made to the NYPD have not been returned at this time.
