A Brownsville family says the city's Department of Homeless Services is to blame for them almost spending the night on the street.
Zenaida Nieves says her family was dropped off at a Brownsville building late Tuesday night with promises of an apartment. But no one was there to let them in, Nieves says, leaving her, her husband and their children homeless once again.
A tenant of the Brownsville building, Angel Aponte, allowed the family to stay at his apartment for the evening. By 10 a.m. Wednesday the family was let into their apartment after contacting DHS officials.
