Police: Body of woman recovered from Long Island Sound in Lloyd Harbor

A Family Dollar worker in Spring Creek was stabbed in a shoplifting incident that turned violent on Sunday at 11:40 a.m., according to police.

Police say the suspect entered the Family Dollar on Flatlands Avenue and was seen removing items from shelves before attempting to run off.

When an employee tried to stop the theft, they were stabbed in both hands.

The worker is expected to recover.

No arrests have been made.
