It's been two years since Deshawn Reid was shot and killed but not a day goes by where his family doesn't think of him.
His close-knit family held back tears and released balloons in his memory.
Reid's mother, Hermenia Cox, said justice still has yet to be served. She said she is pleading to the district attorney to bring justice in her son's name.
Reid was 28 years old when he was fatally shot in the torso in front of the building where he lived. He came from a large family in Brooklyn and left two young sons behind.
His family said he was well on his way to success in the music industry under his stage name "Shawn Onit."
His 8-year-old son said he misses him and also wants justice to be served.
Reid's family said they're choosing to turn their pain into strength. They miss him every day but their biggest hope is for police to find the people responsible for his death and get them off the streets.
