Friends and family marched in honor of a 16-year-old girl killed three years ago, and they are calling for help in solving the homicide.
Chanel Petro-Nixon was found dumped in front of a church in Crown Heights inside a plastic bag in June 2006.
Organizers marched from the girl's home in Bedford-Stuyvesant to the church where she was found. The march began in silence, but they soon spoke out that they want the person who is responsible to come forward. They also called on any witnesses to help law enforcement.
Police are offering more than $32,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case. Meanwhile, Petro-Nixon's friends and families are pressuring the city to move the case to the major case unit, which would allow police to allocate more resources.
